memories of my travels abroad.
lists of things I wish were different and things that I’m enjoying to “balance” them out. :)
I wish we’d eat lunch earlier so I’m not always hungry during class… but the coffee machine downstairs has delicious vanilla cappuccino for .70 euros.
I wish the bread we eat with meals wasn’t so stale… but the watermelon here is amazing.
I wish it was easier to find a frisbee to bring to the beach… but I just bought three Spanish novels and buying new books always makes me happy. The guy at the bookstore was super nice and recommended some novels for me :)
I wish my host mother’s daughters didn’t take so long in the bathroom in the mornings… but they’ve been really nice to me and are willing to talk to me. heh
I wish the program group was bigger or all around the same level so we could all communicate in Spanish with each other… but I am so thankful that the five of us, who probably wouldn’t be friends if we weren’t forced together, have gotten to know each other pretty well.
I wish the taxis and restaurants and shops and places that we walk by would stop playing Call Me Maybe and other annoying American pop… but I love walking around the streets and hearing people practice music through their open windows - I’ve heard clarinet, violin, guitar, and accordion so far.
I wish the wi-fi was faster… but at least I have wi-fi.
There’s more but I want to read now. you guys are cool.
